Electricity Consumption Soars to a Record at 15:00
Electricity consumption in Turkey reached a record high of 56,764 megawatt-hours at 15:00. Natural gas and imported coal power plants dominate the energy production landscape, while the country's energy trade dynamics continue to evolve.

Yesterday in Turkey, daily electricity production reached 1,151,405 megawatt-hours, while consumption hit 1,155,745 megawatt-hours. The peak demand occurred at 15:00, with a record consumption of 56,764 megawatt-hours. The lowest consumption was recorded at 07:00, with 36,871 megawatt-hours.
According to data from Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ), natural gas power plants led electricity production with a 26.5% share. They were followed by imported coal power plants with 20.8% and hydroelectric dams with 14.9%.
In terms of energy trade, Turkey exported 14,097 megawatt-hours of electricity and imported 17,479 megawatt-hours yesterday. These figures highlight the dynamics of Turkey's energy trade and its reliance on imports.
